Good evening to all of you.

 

Revered Chief Guest and Chairman, Vidyalaya Management Committee, Brig. Suneel M Limaye, Commander, Military Station Bhuj, the first Lady of the Station and the Guest of Honour Mrs. Ranjana Limaye, Hon’ble Nominee Chairman, worthy members of V.M.C., Commanding Officers and Officers Commanding of various units of Army, Principals, parents and distinguished guests. It is a proud privilege for us to welcome you all and present before such an Augustus gathering, the 29th Annual Report of the Vidyalaya for the year 2016-17.

 

At the outset, on behalf of the Vidyalaya, I express my heartfelt gratitude to our Chairman, Brig. Suneel M Limaye for sparing time from his busy schedule to be with us this evening. We are sure your presence will motivate and inspire us all. 

 

à Our Mission:

K. V. No.2 Bhuj (Army) is dedicated to impart quality education to the wards of Defence Personnel, Para Military forces, Central Govt. Employees and the floating population of Kutch. Our Vidyalaya prides itself on being a centre of learning where efforts are made to improve the performance in every field through ongoing planning & reflective thinking practices. The Vidyalaya believes that the very essence of education is to unfold the true inherent talent of every child. In this process of educating the child, ideas are nurtured, discipline is imbued & individuality is fostered in the cradle of the Vidyalaya. The  efforts of the Vidyalaya aim at not only improving the academic performance of the students but also making them happy, confident, responsible & enlightened citizens of tomorrow.

 à Genesis & Brief History:

K. V. No.2 Bhuj (Army) was established in the year 1984. With a small beginning and witnessing many ups and downs, the Vidyalaya soon got on to the fast track and has been growing leaps and bound under the dynamic leadership of our h'able offg. Principal Mr. B. N. Pandey Out of the sanctioned staff of 45, 39 are filled on regular basis and the rest are appointed on contract basis. Today, it’s a full fledged school up to class XII with Science & Commerce stream with all the state-of-the-art facilities.

Total enrolment in the Vidyalaya as on date is 893.

à Welcome to the New Staff Members of the Vidyalaya Family:

KVS has an Annual Transfer Policy, under this policy in the present session a total of  10 teachers were transferred out and 15 have joined in their places.

 

           

 

à Parent Teacher Association:

  • The Vidyalaya PTA conducts regular meetings of teachers and parent for the academic growth of the students. After each pen paper test, parents are invited in the Vidyalaya to view the answer sheet and discuss the performance of their wards with the subject teachers.

 

à Subjects wise Activities & Achievements :

 

  • Hindi Language:

Hindi Pakhwada was celebrated with much fan-fare in the Vidyalaya from 14th Sep., 2013 to 29th Sep., 2013. The following activities were conducted during the bi-weekly programme.

    • Hindi Quiz,
    • Hindi Skit,
    • Poem Recitation,
    • Story Telling,
    • Hindi Exhibition,
    • Hindi Antakshri,
    • Extempore speech,

The Programme was culminated on 05th Oct 2016, and the winners were given away prizes.

 Social Science:

    • Social Science Exhibition was organized in the Vidyalaya. At school level, the exhibition was conducted in the month of Aug, 2016,
    • Miss Prithvi Shah and Miss Akansha of class IX was selected at regional level to represent Bhuj region at KVS Regional Social Science Exhibition for Projects.
  • Sports:

o   The Vidyalaya successfully organized cluster level Handball sports meet in the month of August 2013.

o   This year also, many budding sportsmen of our Vidyalaya brought accolades in the various sports competitions organized at Regional & National Level.

o   21 students participated at the KVS Nationals. Master Shivlal Bhil of class XII B and Master Karan of class IX were part of the Handball team which won Bronz medal at KVS National Sports Meet 2013.

 

  • Scouts & Guides:
    • Our Vidyalaya has enrolled 134 students in Scouts & Guides and 110 Cubs & Bulbuls.
    • Eight scouts and six Guides attended Tritya Sopan Testing Camp at KV Mehsana and KV CRPF Gandhinagar
    • Three scouts and four guides participated in KVS National rally held in Lucknow in the month of Nov.2013.
    • 02 scouts and 03 guides qualified for Rajya Purashkar Camp.
    • It’s a matter of great pride for the school that our school was selected for Prime Minister Shield Competition out 46 KVs of the region.

 

  • Adventure Club & Educational Excursion:
    • 30 Students participated in National adventure activity at Atal Bihari Mountaineering Institute, Manali (H.P.). They performed many activities like climbing, trekking, rapling, river crossing etc.
    • The students of Class IX and above were taken to one day educational trip to Kandla Port and Suzlon factory while the secondary classes visited Mandvi, Godhra and Pandit Shyamji Krishna Verma Memorial. The tiny tots were taken to Hill view garden and Parley G biscuit factory.

 

    • The Vidyalaya has formed Integrity club to inculcate various values and morals like Integrity, Tolerance, Unity, etc. Each value is taken for a fortnight and related activities are conducted.
  • CCA:

Our Vidyalaya is known for its variety of Co-curricular activities for the students.

    • Under CCA, the whole Vidyalaya is divided into 04 houses namely Red, Blue, Green & Yellow,
    • Various activities are conducted for the overall development of the child throughout the year,
    • The parameters are set & activities are judged and students are awarded books as well as prizes for their efforts,
    • Various important National Festivals & Days are celebrated with great enthusiasm to inculcate values in the children.
    • Student Council is constituted in the Vidyalaya to help to organize various functions in smooth manner.

 

o   Guidance and Counseling:

o   The Vidyalaya was visited by the faculty of Jet Air Academy. They gave motivational and career counseling sessions for senior students of class X & XI.

 

à CCA (Primary Section):

o   Co-curricular activities in primary section are being conducted on Saturdays. The classes have been divided in to three groups. Events like Calligraphy, Group Dance & Song, Rakhi making, Best from waste, Storytelling, Slogan Writing,  Paper folding, Mask making and Drawing competition were conducted.

 

àCommon Minimum Programme:

o    Community Lunch was organized for primary classes on 13th Sep 2013.

o    Under CMP (Bhuj Cluster) Sports meet for primary students was held at KV No.1, AFS, Bhuj on 13th Nov 2013 in which 06 KVs and 228 primary students participated. 38 of our students participated in it.

o    Grandparent’s day was celebrated on 16th Nov, 2013 at a grand scale in which 100 grandparents witnessed the cultural programme organized by the primary students and had refreshment with the staff.

o   Under common minimum programme (Bhuj Cluster) Cultural meet for primary students was held at KV Army Area, Dhrangdhara on 23 Nov 2013 in which 06 KVs and 200 primary students participated out of which 40 students of our vidyalaya participated in it and finished 2nd in Group Dance and Fancy Dress

 

 

 

 It is the proud privilege of the Vidyalaya to have a dynamic personality & an eminent educationist Mr. P Deva Kumar as the Deputy Commissioner of KVS, Ahmedabad Region to navigate, motivate & inspire us in all our endeavours.
